I was lucky enough to do a 3 month gig in Thailand. While I was there I visited a small island called Ko Samet. It was there I had the inspiration for the sprawling epic set between Thailand and the UK, 'Ko Samoo'. The delicious tastes of Thai food, rich with lime and lemon, the seedy sex bars of Patpong in Bangkok, the exceptionally strong Singha beer, the often unsuccessful phone calls home, the temptations that can lead you astray after 3 months - they are all in this song! This didn't happen to me, but it did happen to someone I know, so this, after all, is a true story. Names have been changed to protect the identity of the innocent... and the not so innocent!
