  1. I Change

A funky little project I was working on around 2003 with ace vocalist Lucy Lawson. This also features legendary drumming from Ian Williams.
The title came from something Ceri said to me. I had commented how easy going and understanding she was, and she replied, 'Yes, but I change'. It doesn't require much more than that for me to get my pen out!!!

Lyrics

I CHANGE
3/9/97-Aug 2003

my computer lies in pieces
we're breaking it down, bit by bit
and if we ever, get it back together
will we ever know what it is?
sometimes I confuse us
with the mad machine, it plays up
we stay up, can't come down
it crashes again, we're crashing again

(I change), when you feel you've won the war, and you've got it all
(I change), and it's all a summer ball, to be let down sonny
(I change), and it's sunny for July, but the weather man lies
(I change), a lie tells a tale, a tale tells a lie

the honeymoon is over
you've got to be tough, to make a score
she's icy cold, he likes it rough
they're loving it more and more
remembering back way when
those funny bunny things, that we'd do
I'd laugh at you, you'd laugh at me
you like me now, but just, when you learn to love me...

CHORUS

(lie on the beach and the sun is hot, your body's tanned but your head is shot
black clouds rolling in front of the moon, it's a) MONSOON, COME SOON, IN JUNE
(get your hat, get your coat, get your lovey-dovey lover, by the throat)
CATCH A CAB, TO THE LAB, KICK THE CAN, IT'S A SHAM
(white coats on, strap him down, watch the birdie, sing like a clown
her eyes are red, your blood is green), AM I DEAD, IT'S OBSCENE
(or was it something I said, someone I slept with in your bed
made you drill my teeth, on top and underneath
rinse from the cup...and then I woke up)

SOLO
CHORUS X 2
